What is spirituality? How is spirituality similar and different to religion?

We all ask these questions, what is the meaning of life?  What is my purpose? What is my identity? What makes me, me?

Spirituality is a broad concept and refers to the belief there is a higher power bigger than us all, that connects us all.

Some express spirituality through religion and prayer, visiting churches, temples, synagogs and mosques. Some believe in something greater than themselves but not in a religious sense. The commonality is the belief of a higher power.
